Under the saddle of Marcus Ehning, the ebullient Singular LS La Silla has made his mark. Together, the duo distinguished themselves in 5* Grand Prix, notably at the World Cup stages in London in 2014, then in Bordeaux two months later. . Entrusted to Linnea Ericsson-Carey by his owner and trainer, Maria Gretzer, for the remainder of his international career, which ends in 2021, the nineteen-year-old stallion has settled down at Béligneux-le-Haras, in the Ain region. The Neyrat family’s facility thus welcomes another Marcus Ehning crack, following in the footsteps of Sandro Boy and the late, lamented Plot Blue.
The La Silla stud is a grandson of the excellent Stakkato. While Singular is by far the best representative of his dam line, the latter has produced a number of other fine horses, including Emilou Harris (Embassy I), seen up to 1.50m in the United States, and Chocolina FS (Comme Il Faut), who after a number of international appearances up to 1.45m as an eight-year-old, moved to the Children’s circuit in 2024.

 

Pedigree

Singular LS La Silla already has thirty registered offspring in France and is distributed as frozen semen via the Brullemail stud, among others. Among his few hundred products listed on Horsetelex, ten-year-old Iron Dames*Singclair, his oldest offspring, makes a strong impression under the saddle of the talented Sophie Hinners. Together, the pair won a 4* Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi a year ago, before placing in no less than six 5* Grand Prix in Europe during the 2024 season! The gelding, a grandson of Cardento, is Singular’s best representative, but other youngsters are also showing promise. In France, seven of his offspring have obtained a performance index above 120, including Silverstar (ISO 133), born in Germany and ridden to 1.50m by Jean-Charles Grandmontagne, Galapiat de Perhet (ICC 130), seen up to CCI 3*-S by Astier Nicolas, and Hollywood du Lo (ISO 135), notably presented on the seven-year-old circuit by Olivier Gaillard last season.
