Dear customers,
At the start of the egg collection year, we have recorded a 30% increase in bookings for the 4th year running.
We would like to thank you for the trust you place in us to support your breeding projects. The techniques of oocyte puncture and ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) are becoming increasingly popular with our customers, who are distinguished by demanding, visionary profiles, ready to invest in the future of reproduction.
An exceptional clientele: the face of tomorrow’s breeding industry
Today, 65% of our ICSI customers are women between the ages of 30 and 55, mainly from the higher socio-professional categories or double earners. This dynamic, well-informed clientele lives mainly in suburban areas and generally owns one or two quality broodmares or former sport mares. Their objective is often to produce between one and four foals a year, with a constant focus on excellence and innovation.
Another important fringe of our clientele (15%), but representing 30% of mares, is made up of professional breeders, mostly men, whose aim is to produce without hazards and not to deviate from well-considered crosses. Logistics, profitability and in particular the concentration of births over time are the main objectives.
These customers agree with our teams about the most interesting advantages of ICSI:
– Improved comfort for ICSI mares
– Unbeatable results
– A better choice of stallion
– more control over costs
Traditional breeding: values rooted in time
At the same time, we are aware that our innovative approach may meet with a certain amount of resistance from some of our traditional breeding customers, who are often male, older and live in rural areas. This population remains attached to breeding methods handed down over decades, where the use of reproductive techniques such as ICSI may appear at odds with the values they cherish.
On the other hand, stallion owners, long-time allies of this valuable rural clientele, are uniting to defend their interests, seeing ICSI as a risk to their traditional breeding model and, above all, their economic interests. They remain careful to preserve the relationships of trust they have built up with their traditional customers, by clumsily opposing these technical developments, which they perceive as a threat. They quickly run out of arguments when faced with users of the technology and scientific arguments. That’s the way it is, and has been for decades.
A shared vision of innovation and tradition
As committed players in the future of breeding, we respect the diversity of visions and practices. Our ambition is to offer solutions adapted to each individual, whether you are attracted by innovative techniques such as ICSI or attached to more traditional methods. The richness of our customer base and its values is a source of inspiration and progress for us, even if we proudly announce that we will always fight against the malice, stupidity and blindness of people spreading misconceptions about a technique we are successfully developing.
We remain at your disposal to discuss your breeding projects and help you achieve your ambitions.
Sincerely,
Theteam dedicated to your success in breeding
